Rising Oil Prices

by Travis Rauling
(Boston, MA)

I for one cannot keep watching the increasingly out of control prices we are witnessing at the pumps. We are going to have do something and do something TODAY - not tomorrow. We can no longer tolerate the oil companies like BP, Chevron, and UNION 76 continuing to show multi billion dollar profits at everyone else's expense. When will it be illegal to completely profit from fuel?

Governments need to step in and say ENOUGH already. If the oil companies were taxed 50 percent of their profits and that was sent directly to Alternative Fuels we might have a solution within 5-10 years. No more fossil fuel usage. It's bad for the economy (except the rich oil companies) and it's proven to be polluting to our planet.

Everyone that's had ENOUGH of this should flood your congressmen with letters and emails until they do something about it! I for one have had enough. I'm writing anyone with a posted email address and letting them know how I feel.

I WELCOME your support!

Absolutely Right
by: Ron W.

I tend to agree with this. In fact, it's extremely upsetting to me how little our politicians seem to listen to us - knowing this is how we will ALL have to go at some point, either voluntarily or being forced to due to peak oil.

I think we need to also focus on how to increase the demand for these alternatives happen BEFORE peak oil happens. If everyone in the more advanced nations starts adopting and using these other forms of energy, oil will no longer be the "in thing" and will lose the interest of the people. At least as far as I can tell.
